Master Training of Trainers  On  Early Childhood Development and Inclusive Education

Bridging Gaps and Scaling UP: A school Readiness program of child-parent-teacher triad in Nepal.

A seven-day Master Training of Trainers (MTOT) on was successfully completed in close collaboration with Centre of Education and Human Resource Development at the training hall of CEHRD, Sanothimi, Bhaktapur, September 2025.

Objectives of the training

  • Provide training to local and district level education officers to train the (Early Childhood Education) ECD teachers in their areas
  • Collect feedbacks to further contextualize with local policy and practice

In total, 14 education officers from CEHRD, the Education Development and Coordination Units (ECDU), the Education Training Center (ETC), and the Education Section of the Municipality participated in the training. The training was facilitated by internationally trained master trainers on the manual, national ECD experts, CEHRD directors, and the Director of the National Education Training Centre.

Major Highlights

The training highlighted on the significant component of the early childhood development education for school readiness including growth and development, inclusive education, responsive parenting, alphabets, numerical, mental health, capacity strengthening of ECD teachers, recording children’s learning progress, and increased parent-teacher interaction through parenting sessions.

The training emphasized participatory learning, contextual adaptation of manuals, and practical classroom strategies. Throughout the training highly interactive approaches including songs, games, role-plays, group discussions, and creative use of low-cost/no-cost teaching materials were used by the trainers.

The seven-day event was wrapped up by the Director General of CEHRD, Mr. Krishna Prasad Kapri with his short note stating:

I sincerely thank my team and Golden Community for developing this customized package, which will be implemented in the field through Palika’s education officer. I expect all participants, particularly the Education Officers of respective local governments, to prioritize the Early Childhood Development (ECD), which has often been overlooked by local governments and schools.”

All the participants were certified as master trainer on early childhood development and inclusive education.
